Carl K. Conklin Dundee/Tyrone: Carl K. Conklin, 74, of Tyrone, NY, died Sunday, June 5, 2016. Carl was born February 17, 1942, in Port Jervis, NY, the son of the late Foster and Cordelia (Foster) Conklin. Carl was a retired self-employed plumber. He was a true people person who loved his family. He went out of his way caring for anyone in need, and cherished time spent with friends at The Lost & Found and The Waneta Inn. Carl is survived by wife of 37 years, Cartha A. Conklin at home; son, Roy C. (Daphne) Conklin of Elmira; daughters, Darcy Lighthouse of North Chili, Mary Ellen (Tim) Westervelt of Addison; Melissa (John) Watson of Elmira; 8 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; brothers, Robert Conklin of Elmira Heights, Eugene (Shelba) Conklin of Pine City, NY, Jerry (Judi) Conklin of Lacey, WA; sisters, Helene Hayes of Horseheads, Lucille Millspaugh of Houston, Texas, Dorothy Hood of Youngsville, NC, Karon (Roger) Johnson of Horseheads; sister in law Dana Kooch of Colorado Springs, CO; brother in law Tom (Nancy) Nagle of Horseheads; numerous nieces and nephews; countless friends; and his faithful 4 legged best friends, Maggie and Killer. He was predeceased by an infant daughter Clare Cordelia Conklin, a newborn grandson Ray Baxter Conklin, a brother and his wife Raymond and Betty Conklin, a sister in law Joan Conklin, and brothers in law Kenneth Hayes, Richard Millspaugh, and Charles Hood. Honoring his wishes, there are no prior calling hours. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1120 S Goodman St., Rochester, NY 14620, or the charity of the donor's choice.
