Rowena G. Eyrich Dundee: Rowena G. Eyrich, age 98, of Dundee, NY died Saturday November 19, 2016 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, N.Y. Friends and family are invited to calling hours from 5:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday (Nov. 22) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee, NY; with a V.F.W. Auxiliary Service at 8:00 p.m. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday (Nov. 23) at the funeral home, with Lay Pastor Lew Ann Giles officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Dundee Fire Company, or Dundee Fire Company Emergency Squad, 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837. Rowena was born Sept. 23, 1918 in the town of Starkey, NY, one of 3 daughters of the late Ira and Bertha Wixson Fultz. She graduated from Dundee High School in 1938, a member of the last class before the Centralization of the School District. On July 2, 1942 in Savona, NY she married the late Lester L. Eyrich; who passed away suddenly on her 40th Birthday Sept. 23, 1958. Her working career started in the vineyards above Seneca Lake; having worked for Eastman Beers, Fulkerson's, and Glenora Vineyards. She was employed for over 20 years by Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital in Penn Yan, NY. She was also a well-known Tax Preparer from 1958 until she finally retired in 2012. Mrs. Eyrich was a member of Dundee Baptist Church; and a true Patriot at heart, being a Life Member and Past President of Yates County VFW Aux. #745; Past President of Finger Lakes VFW County Council; Past President of the 8th District VFW Aux.; and was a former member of the Dundee Order of the Eastern Star, Dundee Rebekah's, and the Dundee American Legion Ladies Aux.. She is loved and will be forever missed by a daughter Jean Dean with whom she made her home; 2 sons Robert "Bob" (Chiraporn "Lee") Eyrich of Xenia, OH, Roy Eyrich of San Diego, CA; a sister Joyce (Frank) Bloom of Dundee, NY; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, extended family and in-laws. Besides her parents and husband, she was pre-deceased by twin babies Phillip & Phyllis Eyrich in 1944 & 1945 respectively; a great granddaughter Cori Dean in 1997; a brother Richard Fultz in 2005; a sister Mildred Ellison in 2010; and several step children.
