Elinor June Webster Dundee: Elinor June Webster, age 92, of Dundee, NY died Monday July 31, 2017 at the Penn Yan Manor Nursing Home, Penn Yan, N.Y.. Friends are invited to calling hours from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 3) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee. Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Friday (Aug. 4) at the Dundee Baptist Church, 20 Seneca Street, with Lay Pastor Lew Ann Giles officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Dundee Fire Company, 12 Union St., or to the Dundee Baptist Church, 20 Seneca Street, Dundee, NY 14837. Elinor was born December 27, 1924 in the town of Tyrone, NY, the first daughter of the late Lynn Sargent and Linda Anne {Crans} Miller. She graduated from Dundee Central School in 1943; and from Arnot-Ogden Medical Center School of Nursing with her R.N. Certificate in 1946. On Sept. 13, 1946 in the Dundee Baptist Church she married Howard Donald Webster; they have been inseparable for over 70 years. A life long area resident; having raised seven children; she was employed by Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital in Penn Yan, for 27 years retiring in 1986. Mrs. Webster was a very active Life Member of the Dundee Baptist Church, and was very instrumental on the Council of Churches working to establish the former Dundee Youth Center. A volunteer for the Red Cross working Blood Pressure Clinics, served on the Dundee Central School Election Board, and was a former member of the Yates Rebekah Lodge. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafts, quilting, sewing, and ceramics. She is loved and will be dearly missed by her husband Howard Donald Webster currently of Penn Yan Manor; 2 sons Terry W. Webster of Penn Yan, Howard Michael (Lorrie) Webster of Belton, MO; 5 daughters Linda D. (Joseph) Young of Dundee, Luanne (Walter) Bennett of Watkins Glen, Donna M. (Robert) Bergmark of Dundee, Mari E. (John) Gauck of Montour Falls, Judy L. (Anthony) DeLaurentiis of Trumansburg; 22 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren;; 2 sisters Leila Voorhees of Navada, OH, and Alta (Harry) Ayers of Moore Haven, FL; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a grandson David Kaul in 1991; a daughter in law Sharon J. Webster in 2015; a brother Lawrence Miller, and 3 sisters, Evelyn Symes, Maxine Anderson, and Nelda Moss.
