Obituary of Mitchell A. Cotten

Mitchell A. Cotten Dundee: Mitchell A. Cotten, 68, slipped peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 20, surrounded by his loving family. Mitchell, son of the late Keith and Elizabeth Hunt Cotten, Sr., was born in Delaware County on July 4, 1945. He grew up and attended school in Dundee. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, from 1966 - 1970, during the Vietnam War. He was employed by NYSEG, as an engineer working out of Binghamton. He was a member of the Crooked Lake Fiddlers' Club. Mitchell is survived by Liz, his devoted wife of 31 years; as well as children Tammy, Trina (Brian), Miki (Norm), Patti (Tracey), Mike (Stacy), BJ, and Cori (Gary). He was the proud grandfather of 25 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren. Other survivors include his brother, Dick (Phyllis) brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends. Mitchell was predeceased by his brother, Keith, in 2011. Family and friends will be welcomed at Lakeland Mennonite Church, in Rock Stream, New York, from 3:00 - 5:00 PM, on Monday, February 24. Mitchell will be laid to rest at the church cemetery following calling hours. A memorial service will celebrate his life, beginning at 5:30 PM, with Pastor Dale Eby officiating. Mitchell will be remembered for his generosity, his wit and wisdom, his strength of character, his love of the outdoors, and his musical talents.
