Obituary of Audrey H. Luce

Audrey H. Luce Dundee: Audrey H. Luce age 77 of The Terrace, Dundee, NY died Saturday December 17, 2011 at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, in Penn Yan, NY. Audrey was born May 17, 1934 in Buffalo, NY the daughter of the late Thomas and Helen Butkowski Schindler. She graduated from Wyoming Central School in 1952. She has lived in Dundee, since 1984, previously of Castile, NY. On August 12, 1985, in Dundee, she married the late Horace K. Luce; he passed away on Feb. 27, 1995. An active member of the former St. Andrews Catholic Church in Dundee, where she was a member of the Alter and Rosary Society, she also attended St. Michaels. Audrey had also been a member of the Penn Yan Ladies of the Moose, the Franklinville VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post # 9487; the Penn Yan Friendship Squares, and Soaring Twirlers in Horseheads, NY. She loved square dancing, sewing, and quilting. She is loved and will be dearly missed by her son Mark Bowles of Angelica, NY; 2 daughters, Christine (Michael) McNeil of Walworth, NY, and Susan Bowles of Jamestown, NY; 2 grandchildren, Shamrock Duncan of Pasadena, CA, and John Craig Czech of Jamestown; a sister Regina Hill of Franklinville, NY; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by 3 brothers Richard, Stanley, and Frank Schindler; and 2 sisters Eleanor Wright, and Mary Konieczny. Honoring her wishes there are no prior calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 20) at St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church, Liberty St. Penn Yan, with Father Stan Kaeprzak officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Dundee Fire Company Emergency Squad 12 Union St. Dundee, NY 14837, or St. Michaels Catholic Church 212 Keuka St. Penn Yan, NY 14527.
