Obituary of William R. Orr

William R. Orr Sr. Weston/Dundee: William R. Orr Sr., age 69, of Weston, NY died Wednesday May 28, 2014 in the comfort of his home. Honoring his wishes there are no prior calling hours. A Celebration of His Life will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday (June 14) at the Tyrone Fire Hall, Route 226, Tyrone. Inurnment will be in Tyrone Union Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers the family would graciously accept memorial contributions. William was born October 6, 1944 in Branchport, NY, the son of the late William and Irene Hines Orr. He graduated from Penn Yan Academy in 1962. He has lived in Weston since 1985, previously of Penn Yan. The lead guitar player with Red Wilson and "The Happy Days" he also worked for various vineyards, in the Keuka Lake region, of New York; until his health disabled him in 1988. On June 9, 1990 in Tyrone, he married the former Susan A. Smith. He is loved and will be missed by his wife of 24 years Susan A. Smith - Orr at home; six children Kathy Jo (Ed) Hanville of Wellsburg, NY, William R. Orr Jr. of Canandaigua, Paul (Misty) Orr of Wayne, Raymond (Gina) Krisher of Bath, Kimberly Timmerman of Prattsburg, and Kristie (Judd) McAtee of Horseheads; 18 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 2 brothers Terry (Kris) Orr of Penn Yan, Rodney Orr of Dundee; 3 sisters Edith (Gary) Wilson of Bath, Sandy (Charlie) Stocum, and Lori (Doug) Wilson both of Penn Yan; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
