Obituary of Kent Karl Greenfield

Kent Karl Greenfield Dundee: Kent Karl Greenfield, age 73, of Dundee, NY died Saturday January 3, 2015 in the comfort of his home, with his wife at his side. Friends are invited to call from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Friday (Jan. 9) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee, N.Y.; where a memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. with Lay Pastor Lew Ann Giles officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses, or to Ontario-Yates Hospice 756 Pre-Emption Rd., Geneva, NY 14456. Kent was born February 24, 1941 in North Hornell, NY, the son of the late Harold and Lillian Brooks Greenfield. On Dec. 4, 1982 in Watkins Glen, NY he married the former Connie L. VanZile. He has lived locally for 30 years previously of Watkins Glen. He was an Auctioneer employed by Darwin Connely Auctions, of Burdett, NY. Having worked in the early 1970's at Cargill Salt, and in the late 70's for the Odessa-Montour School District. In his spare time he enjoyed refinishing furniture, collecting coins and old jewelry, playing bingo, watching NASCAR and cheering on Dale Jr.; but his favorite pastime was going to yard sales, living for "Dundee Days". He is loved and will be dearly missed by his wife of 32 years Connie L. Greenfield at home; 4 sons Michael A. VanZile, Donald L. (Katie-Jane) Smith both of Dundee, William T. Smith of Reading Center, Chad L. (Tracey) Smith of South Carolina; 2 daughters Marjorie L. Smith of Montour Falls, Ashley D. (Jason) Leonard of Dundee; 16 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 4 brothers Lance (Sandy) Greenfield of Churchville, NY, David (Missy) Greenfield of Woodhull, NY, Ronnie Greenfield of Illinois, Joey Greenfield of Hornell; 3 sisters Penny Green of Henrietta, NY, Starlene Welch of Illinois, Patty (John) Bartholf of Woodhull, special friends Mike & Char Shriver of Dundee; a very dear cousin Sandy (Gene) Kinney of Lawrenceville, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
