Obituary of Marion B. Lamborn

Marion B. Lamborn Penn Yan: Marion B. Lamborn, age 84, of Penn Yan, NY passed away Wednesday January 28, 2015 at The Homestead, in Penn Yan, N.Y.. The family will greet friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Saturday (Feb. 7) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee; where a memorial service will be held at 11:00 with Lay Pastor Lew Ann Giles officiating. Inurnment will be in Grove Mount Cemetery in Himrod, NY at the convenience of the family. Himrod, NY 14842. Marion was born August 29, 1930 in Himrod, the daughter of the late Milton and Laura Orr Hall. She graduated from Dundee Central School in 1948. On Sept. 10, 1948 in Himrod, she married the late Earl "Dean" Lamborn, who passed away in March of 1980. A life-long local resident, Marion worked for Westinghouse in Bath many years ago. She had been a cook at The Bag Piper Restaurant, and the Glen Motor Inn. She retired in 1992 from Giles Family Store, in Dundee, NY where she had worked in the Produce and Deli departments. Mrs. Lamborn was a member of the Himrod Baptist Church. A loving mother, and grandmother, and "The Best Cook in Town" She will be dearly missed by her 6 daughters, Doris (Kyle) Jorgensen of Penn Yan, Deborah (E. Jay) Groom of Dundee, Denise (Denny) Pearston of Geneseo, NY, Doreen Lamborn of Penn Yan, Donna (Joe) Karkut of Naples, FL, Deanne (Keith Kier) Lamborn of Rochester, NY; a son in law Charlie Parmelee of Geneva, NY; 9 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was pre-deceased by a daughter Diane Parmelee, 2 granddaughters Trina Kerrick, and Melissa Sutherland, a sister Doris "Dord" Hall, and 2 brothers Harold "Tink" Hall, and Milton "Bus" Hall.
