William L. Decker Dundee: William L. Decker, age 76, of Dundee, NY died Wednesday February 22, 2012 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, in Penn Yan, NY. Friends may call from 2-4 pm Sunday (Feb. 26) and from 12:00 Noon- 1:00 pm Monday (Feb. 27) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee; where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, with Rev. Lucinda O'Leary officiating. Burial will follow in Lakemont Cemetery, Hayes Rd. Dundee, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Cardiac Rehab @ Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital 418 N. Main St. Penn Yan, NY 14527; or the Wilmot Cancer Center 601 Elmwood Ave. Box 704 Rochester, NY 14642. William was born Dec. 24, 1935 in Dundee, NY. On Sept. 24, 1955 in Dundee, he married the former Alma A. Good. A life long local resident he retired in 1998 after over 30 years of employment by Town of Starkey Highway Department. Mr. Decker was a former member of the former Dundee Chapter of Civil Defense, and Dundee Auxiliary Police, having provided security at the Dundee Speedway, the Dundee Fair and as a Mounted Officer at Watkins Glen Gran Prix events. In his spare time he enjoyed camping with his family, and fixing cars. He is loved and will be missed by his wife of 56 years Alma A. Decker at home; 3 sons Dennis W. (Linda) Decker of Dundee, Richard L. Decker of Phelps, and Paul F. (Shela) Merrick of Johnson City, NY; 2 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sister and brother in law Dorothy (Leon) Pire of Bradford; PA, and several nieces and nephews.
