Obituary of David L. Briggs

David L. Briggs Barrington: David L. Briggs, age 54, of Barrington, NY died unexpectedly on Monday May 9, 2016 at Geneva General Hospital, in Geneva, N.Y. David was born August 16, 1961 in Attleboro, Massachusetts to his loving parents Lane R. and Shirley (O'Clair) Briggs. On April 2, 1978 he married his High School sweetheart Carol L. Niles, also of Attleboro. David worked for 38 years side by side with his father building a lucrative business in automotive repair. Upon moving to the Finger Lakes region in 1999; he founded and became the sole proprietor of Dave's Auto. David was a self-made man, who prided himself on God, Family, and Country. When he was not working alongside his sons, or entertaining clients with jokes and tall tales; he was happiest spending time at home with family and his favorite dog Bandit. He is loved and will be forever missed by his wife of 38 years Carol L. Briggs a registered nurse; 4 sons: David L. Briggs Jr. of Waterloo, ME; Jason S. (Angela) Briggs of Erin, NY; Matthew D. Briggs of Penn Yan; Joshua L. (Alysia) Briggs of Watkins Glen; and the joy and light of his life his granddaughter Amber Alice Briggs; 1 brother and 2 sisters: Debbie Bingham of Fall River, MA., Cheryl (Peter) Santos of McAllen, TX; and several nieces and nephews. Honoring the family's wishes there will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Chapel of Penn Yan, 270 Lake St. Penn Yan, NY 14527; where he spent the last months of his life worshipping his Lord.
