Luana LaBarr Penn Yan: Luana LaBarr, age 69, of Penn Yan, N.Y. died Wednesday April 25, 2012 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, in Penn Yan. Friends may call from 5-7pm Wednesday (May 2) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee; where a memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm with Pastor Edward Rice, and Rev. John Busch officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Penn Yan Volunteer Ambulance 205 North Ave. Penn Yan, NY 14527. Luana was born December 4, 1942 in Penn Yan, N.Y., the daughter of the late William R. LaBarr Sr. and Jennie M. Smith LaBarr. A life long area resident she cherished her role as a loving mother and grandmother. A member of the Good Samaritan Baptist Church in Dresden; she enjoyed reading and puzzles. She is loved and will be dearly missed by her mother Jennie M. LaBarr of Dresden, 4 sons Jeffery S. (Belinda Learn) Parkhurst of Himrod, David G. (Tonya) Parkhurst Jr. of Dresden, Bryan D. (Toni) Parkhurst of Bellona, Edward A. (Liz) Parkhurst of Waterloo; a daughter Elaine M. (Mark) Andrews of Penn Yan; 2 daughters in law Norene M. Parkhurst of Penn Yan, Lauri Parkhurst of Clifton Springs; 16 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 4 brothers William R. (Jackie) LaBarr Jr. of Dundee, Lyle P. (K.T.) LaBarr of Starkey, Bruce A. (Gina) LaBarr of Douglas, AZ, Alonzo C. (Pam) LaBarr of Binghamton, NY; 2 sisters Yvonne Thomas of Dundee, Carolyn (Pete) Ames of Dresden; and numerous nieces, and nephews.
