Obituary of Nancy C. Peelle

Nancy Carpenter Peelle Dundee: Nancy C. Peelle age 79, of Dundee, passed away Wednesday August 23rd 2017 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital in Penn Yan NY. Friends are invited to calling hours from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday (Aug. 29) at Baird Funeral Home 36 Water St. Dundee, NY. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in Hillside Cemetery Dundee, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 1425 W. Jefferson Rd. #19 Rochester, NY 14623; or the Dundee Fire Company Emergency Squad, 12 Union St. Dundee, NY 14837; or a charity of your choice. Nancy was born October 15th 1937 in Penn Yan NY the daughter of late Lynn Howell and Dorothy M. (Smith) Carpenter. She graduated from Dundee Central School in the class of 1955. On June 15th 1957 she married Morris Child Peelle of Rock Stream NY who predeceased her on February 12, 1986. She continued her education and graduated from Keuka College and Elmira College with a Master's in education; and became an elementary school teacher at Dundee Central School in 1970 until she retired in 1994. Nancy enjoyed reading, gardening, music, cooking and her students. She was a very conscientious member of the community, being a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Dundee, Dundee Rotary, St. Marks Terrace Board and past member of The Order of Eastern Star and the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital Board. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross Blood Bank, The Board of Elections and taught Safe Driving Classes. She also was a supporter of the Dundee Library, the Dundee Women's Study Club and the Dundee Historical Society. She is survived by two sons, Anthony L. "Tony" (Josephine L.) Peelle, Sanford M. (Lisa M.) Peelle; two grandchildren Anthony Perkins Peelle and Brooke Sienna Peelle all of Dundee; 4 nieces Dana (Denis Norton) Perkins, Holly (Walt) Coiner, Karlin (Jay) Silva and Melissa Perkins (Mark) Fitzgerald. Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her brother-in-law Thomas Boxley Perkins and sister-in-law Carolyn Peelle Perkins.
