Dear family and friends of Robert,
I am so sorry for your loss. Looking at the many, many thoughts shared, there is no doubt how much he was loved and will be truly missed. During this difficult time may you find strength from each other and also find comfort from God's word. When we are going through especially difficult times we can remember 2 Corinthians 1:3,4 where God is described as "a father of tender mercies, and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials.." He offers us comfort from future promises such as Revelation 21:4 and Acts 24:15.

Sometimes in life you are lucky enough to meet that one person who is ALWAYS on your side, right from the start. That one person who is ALWAYS there to listen and give their best advice with only your best interest in mind.
The person who checks in with you, mostly, every day just to say, "Hello, I miss you, I love you..."
Bob was that person.
My person.
I will miss him for all the days of my life.

Fair winds & following seas, dear Booby.
I asked him once, how he spelled Booby (prounced buh-bee); a nickname bestowed on him by, I believe, lake people. He gave me a smirky, crooked grin and said "Emmer, it's Booby. B-O-O-B-Y. It's not boobie! chuckle-chuckle-chuckle."
His chuckle was contagious. And I'll hear it when a boat not-so-gently taps into a dock; when we watch a can, a bottle, a candy wrapper or maybe a chair burn in a bonfire; when dinner is served at 10PM.
Today, on the edge of a dock in front of a little blue cottage on the shore of a lake, their feet dangle over the water and the awe of their reunion makes the moon glow, the lake sparkle, and the sun shine. Heaven is for real, and Bob is basking in the glory of reuniting with Michelle and all of his departed friends and family. Before it hurts to lose someone, you must love them first. And the most beautiful part of love is that it never ends.
Thank you Renee, Michael, J-Man, and of course Shelzy, for sharing your dad with us.
RIP Booby. We'll keep the fire going. XO

My heart goes out to the entire family. I will miss him.
Bob was In and out of my life my entire life going back to when I was a little girl. He spent time with my step father, Lyman Smith and he was a part of the Seneca Lake Sailing Association. I worked with Bob helping him run Tommy’s Holiday Camp, in between directors , which was a drug abuse center in town during my high school years. We played euchre together at several places throughout the years. We helped host many Kentucky derby, Preakness and Belmont parties. There was a time We used to get together once a week for happy hour.
He helped us out with Seneca lake pure waters testing the streams four times a year. These were just a few of my experiences with Bob.
There were times we didn’t see each other for awhile, but we were forever friends and I loved him.

I am saddened to hear of Bob’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. Bob will forever be remembered for his kind heart, wonderful smile and willingness to help.
I’ve had the pleasure of Bob being my boss under three different circumstances. The first was when I babysat the twins. The second was when I worked at the pharmacy. The third was when he served as a board member for the Dundee Area Youth Center. A former boss and always a friend. Go Steelers!

Oh I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He was such a well known man and loved by many. I remember a time that Bob was a huge part of me having my second child. It was Christmas day 1991 I was very sick with the flu and 8 and a half months pregnant. We had called the hospital and they said to come right down but first stop at your drug store and get a prescription strength cough syrup. My husband
called Bob at home and told him what was going on and Bob met my husband at the drug store on Christmas Day!! We got my prescription and had the baby the next day. I will always treasure Bob for helping me out when I was very sick and grateful that he did this on Christmas day.
