Obituary of Gabe C. Bellis

Gabe C. Bellis Dundee: Gabe C. Bellis, age 83, of Dundee, NY died Wednesday July 11, 2012 at Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility, in Montour Falls, NY. Honoring his wishes there were no prior calling hours; services will be private at the convenience of the family. He will be buried in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Dundee Fire Company Emergency Squad, 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837. Gabe was born January 22, 1929 in Asheville, NC, the son of the late Delos and Eva Price Bellis. He graduated from Dundee Central School in 1946. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1952. On May 3, 1953 in Dundee, NY he married the former Joyce V. Miller. A milk and dairy product salesman for 35 years having started with Millard Dairy, and finally retiring from Dairylee, of Elmira, in 1991. Mr. Bellis was a former member of Barrington Community Church, a member of the American Legion Bradley-Jessop Post #660, the Dundee V.F.W. Goodrich-Smith Post #8649, and enjoyed bowling, and watching the NY Yankees. His greatest enjoyment came from spending quality time with his family especially during holiday dinners. He is loved and will be dearly missed by his wife of 59 years, Joyce V. Bellis at home; 3 daughters Cindy (Paul) Redmond of Auburn, NY, Connie (Robert) Walts of Phoenix, AZ, Linda (Steve) Benson also of Auburn; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 3 sisters Venita (Paul) Dann of Collegeville, PA, Laura (John) Prunest of Phillipsburg, NJ, Ruth Wilkes of Hawaii, HI; numerous in-laws; and countless nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a brother Delos Bellis, and two sister Mary Kay Bose, and Velma Knapp. Arrangements were entrusted to the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee.
