Obituary of Marcia Ann Hathaway

Marcia Ann Hendrick Hathaway Dundee: Marcia Ann Hendrick Hathaway, age 89, of Dundee, NY died Saturday December 14, 2019 at The Homestead, in Penn Yan, N.Y.. Honoring her wishes there are no prior calling hours. A graveside service originally scheduled be held in Hillside Cemetery, in Dundee on Saturday April 25, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. with Lay Pastor Lew Ann Giles officiating has been postponed until Covid-19 restrictions are lifted. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Dundee Fire Company, or Dundee Fire Company Emergency Squad, 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837 or to The Homestead 418 N. Main St. Penn Yan, NY 14837. Marcia was born October 31, 1930 in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late Charles Clarence and Emma Helen {Stanton} Hendrick. She graduated from Dundee Central School in 1947. On Feb. 23, 1948 in Crystal Valley, NY she married the late John Lawrence Hathaway; who passed away on Sept. 11, 1993. A lifelong local resident, she was a true "Susie Homemaker" having helped on the family farm, raised 6 children, enjoyed crochet, canning, baking, and treasured reading her beloved Bible. She was a member of the Dundee Baptist Church; a former member of the Crystal Valley Grange, former Cub Scout Den Mother, and former member of the Tyrone Fire Dept. Ladies Aux. She is survived and will be missed by son Howard R. (Ruth) Hathaway of Watkins Glen; 2 daughters Lorie A. (James) Snyder of Canandaigua, Hannah Hathaway of Garner, NC; 9 grandchildren David M. (Jacquiline) Hathaway, Roy C. "Chuck" (Norma) Hathaway Jr., Michael (Cindy) Hathaway, John Hathaway, Nicole (Henry) Armstrong, Amanda (JJ) Kriedler, Michelle (Ben) Ingerson, Elora (Dylan) Sparks, and Kyra Hall; 18 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, and husband, she was predeceased by 3 sons, Gerry on Jan. 8, 1988, Roy on Aug. 16, 2009, and Tim on Nov. 18, 2015; a granddaughter Sarah Elizabeth Williams on Nov. 18, 2019, and 2 brothers Howard Chadwick killed in action WWII, and Howard C.
