Obituary of Koral John Marusarz

Koral John Marusarz Jr. Dundee/Cortland: Koral John Marusarz Jr., age 64, of Cortland, NY formerly of Dundee, is "At Last, at Peace, with God", on Friday November 12, 2021 at Crown Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, in Cortland, NY. There are no calling hours; A Celebration of His Life will be at the convenience of the family on a date to be announced. "John" was born March 12, 1957 in Penn Yan, NY, the son of the late Koral J. "PeeWee" and Thelma L. (McFall) Marusarz Sr. He attended Dundee Central School, and lived most of his life in Dundee. By working alongside his dad, he learned everything there is to know about the excavating business. John eventually took over the family excavating business, the former Marusarz Construction in Dundee. Having grown up with five sisters, he enjoyed hunting and playing poker. He loved the races, from Dundee Speedway to watching NASCAR, even sponsoring 3 different cars driven by friends over the years. But most of all…he loved his family. He always enjoyed sharing a hot cup of coffee, a hearty handshake or a warm hug with his friends. He is survived by 4 sisters Deborah E. (Bruce) Pinneo, and Susanne M. Klein both of Penn Yan, Melody (Terry) Robbins of Batesburg, South Carolina, and Angela (Jacek) Knop of Owego, NY; a stepdaughter who he loved as his own Jill Denmark, and her mother Laurie Timberman whom he dearly cherished as a friend; 12 nieces and nephews; and 16 great niece & nephews, many cousins, and lifetime friends. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a sister Dorothy E. Thompson in 2018. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in John's name to the American Lung Association or a drug treatment center of your choice. Special Thanks are extended, by his family to the staff of Crown Park where he touched the lives of those who cared for him at the facility.
