Obituary of Brenda L. Moss

Brenda L. Moss Hammondsport: Brenda L. Moss, age 69, of Hammondsport, NY died Wednesday, February 16, 2022 in the comfort of her home after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Honoring Brenda's wishes, there will be no prior calling hours. Services will be at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will be in Tyrone Union Cemetery. Box 91, Wayne, NY 14893. Brenda was born May 18, 1952 in Harrisburg, PA, the daughter of the late Edward W. and Susanna (Bard) LaRue. Brenda attended college at the University of Hawaii at Manoa; she had hoped to return there one day. On Dec. 18, 2003 in Weston, NY she married Duane M. Moss. Brenda was Logistics Coordinator employed by Dimon & Bacorn, moving company of Elmira, N.Y. until her health forced her retirement. Brenda was a member of the Tyrone United Methodist Church, where for a number of years, you could have found her in the choir loft singing or at the piano playing beautiful hymns for the congregation. She was an accomplished pianist and vocalist with a true ear for music. Brenda was an animal lover and took comfort in having her furry companions by her side. She crocheted and made her own clothes even selling her creations to raise money for MS Research. Brenda will be missed by her husband Duane M. "Pete ' Moss at home; 2 daughters Leslie (Adam) Baker of Brewster, NY, Erin (James) Sherrick of Binghamton, NY; 2 sons D. Frank (Samantha) Moss of Cohocton, NY, Robert (Denise Haggerty) Moss of Brighton, NY; 3 grandsons Cameron, Dylan, and Michael Moss; her step mother Nancy LaRue of Hammondsport; sister in laws Ruthann LaRue of Troy, MI, and Catherine LaRue of Manassas, VA; step brother Duane (Chong) Brosky of Wilmington, DE; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by her 2 brothers Jack LaRue, and Bill LaRue. Arrangements entrusted with the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee.
