Karen and family… so very sorry to learn of your mom’s passing. She was a wonderful lady and gaff BFF e so much of herself to so many. I always enjoyed running into her and chatting. I met Peg through her journalistic endeavors when she would attend Dundee Central School events and Board meetings. She was always unflappable, reporting without bias, and so interested in the school, the kids, and how education impacted the community. She was a lovely lady who truly cared about teaching/learning and the inherent opportunities of earning a degree. It has been many years since I have seen her, but I shall always recall her sincerity and her quiet perseverance in pursuing a story. She will be missed not only for her journalistic efforts but for the kindness she showered on all the people she met. Peg, if you can, let us know how the “rest of the story” works out. She would be thrilled to know that you remember her this way! She has always spoken so highly of you, and I believe one of the reasons she was so proud when I joined the DCS family was that she knew the legacy you left behind. Thank you so much for your kind words.

My thoughts are with you all as we remember what a kind and generous soul Peg (still) is. I will always be thankful for the beauty she helped preserve along the Keuka Outlet Trail, and the memories she recorded in her writing.
