Obituary of Luckey C. Gleason

Luckey C. Gleason Waterloo: Luckey C. Gleason, age 66, of Waterloo, NY passed away unexpectedly Wednesday September 14, 2022 at Geneva General Hospital, in Geneva, NY. Honoring her wishes there will be no formal calling hours. Friends are invited to a Celebration of Her Life Saturday Sept. 24, starting at 2:00 p.m. with a Memorial Tribute and Sharing Time at 4:00 p.m. followed by dinner at 5:00 p.m. at the home of her brother Ray and Brandi Washburn, 3528 Harrison Rd., Himrod, NY 14842. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Luckey was born Nov. 1, 1955 in Penn Yan, NY, the daughter of the late Floyd "Fred" and Mildred E. (Hainsworth) Washburn. She graduated from Dundee Central School in 1974. She started working for Rainbow Cove and throughout her life alongside her best friend Helen Ripley. Over the years she worked many different jobs, from sterilization and disinfection at Schuyler Hospital, to Bartending and Bookkeeping for the Pour House and The Eagle Hotel. In the early 1990's she was employed by Badger Technologies in Penn Yan, and she retired in 2012 due to health reasons from Z-Axis in Phelps, NY. Luckey was a devoted life time partner, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed being with family and friends the most. Some of her hobbies included diamond art, detailed coloring books, playing online games, and going for joy rides on the Harley. She is loved and will be forever missed by her lifelong partner Ron A. Strickhorn with whom she made her home; her 2 daughters Heather E. (Bryan Post) Swift, and Amanda K. (Jason Markoff) Gleason both of Waverly, NY; 3 grandchildren Isaiah K. Swift, Carter F. Allen, and LillyAna J. Markoff; 2 brothers Floyd B. Washburn of Dundee, Raymond L. (Brandi) Washburn and her sister Theresa B. (Jim) Kellogg all of Himrod; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
