Granny was everything to us, especially growing up. She kept us, loved us, protected us, and created family wherever she was. She was not only my Granny, she was Granny to SO many, and also a second mom to me. She definitely earning her right to give me away at my wedding just as much as my momma. She was so special to me that before I had ever had a serious boyfriend, I knew that one day I'd name my daughter (Emma) after her to honor her, and I was blessed that Gran was able to know & see that.
Granny was never angry (well, with me... I've heard stories about her dislike of door-to-door salesmen though) - even when I know I was a brat at times to her (especially those pre-teen years), she never yelled... she showed annoyance from time to time, but it never took much time to see her smile or hear her giggle again. She accepted any friend into her home & adopted them as family. Everyone always had a home, and a cup of coffee waiting, at Granny's, no matter where she lived.
My favorite memories were her allowing me to wear her rainbow nightgown on most nights we stayed with her, limitless crafts, letting us use her pots, pans, & blankets to make our play "homes" out in the backyard, watching old tv shows like "I Love Lucy", or our favorite movie together "The Beverley Hillbillies". Drinking coffee, eating spaghetti or BLTs, gardening, & hearing her try to pronounce the word "aluminum". Hilarious times with Sadie, Katie, & Roscoe, & that one time she let me stay home from school all day to "help" one of the cats through labor & delivery. As we got older, her showing us around the Finger Lakes (that one time she walked UP the entire Glen with us & then back down when she was in her 60s) & spending time with my kids, and one of the last fun memories with her - the farting ER chair.
Honestly, there are too many wonderful memories to count with Granny. Too many to list, and as one pops up, I remember yet another one. She was the most wonderful and caring woman, both incredibly kind and strong. I never met anyone who didn't love Granny.
I will forever cherish the time I had her in my life, and always regret there wasn't more. Though my world will always seem a little heavier now, I know Heaven praises her arrival, & she's dancing once again, sitting around a huge table, drinking coffee with the angels.

There are too many memories to count. Being my stepmomma for many years she was always sewing homemade things like microwave mitts, and going to listen to me play in the band, and many times just getting together for coffee and having a few laughs, as always. There is no other that can even compare to her. She had a very loving and caring heart that I miss already.
