Obituary of Harry J. Elston

Harry J. Elston Dundee N.Y./Newton, N.J.: Harry J. Elston, age 75, of Dundee, NY formerly of Newton, N.J.; passed away on Thursday October 26, 2023 at the Corning Center for Rehabilitation, in Corning, NY. Honoring his wishes there are no prior calling hours. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Harry was born November 7, 1947 in Newton, NJ, son of the late Louise Aumick. He was married to the former Myrtle M. Swartz Sipley, who passed away on Sept. 23, 2005. Harry was a former Lineman employed by Service Electric Cablevision, in Sparta, New Jersey, retiring after 30 years and moving to Dundee to be closer to his family that meant so much to him. He enjoyed farming, but nothing gave him more pleasure than spending time with his many grandchildren and their families. He is survived and will be forever missed by a son Gerald C. 'Jerry' Sipley of Salem, MO; a daughter Barbara (Robert) Johnson with whom he made his home in Dundee; daughter-in-law Melanda Sipley of Dundee; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 12 great great grandchildren. Besides his mother and his wife, he was pre-deceased by a brother Charlie Elston, a son Charles Sipley Jr.; a dau. in law Nadine Sipley, 2 grandsons, and 3 great grandchildren.
