Obituary of Marla D. Fredell

Marla D. Fredell Dundee: Marla D. Fredell, age 81, of Dundee, NY passed away Friday May 3, 2024 in the comfort of her home. Honoring her wishes there will be no prior calling hours, and services will be private at the convenience of the family. Marla was born June 18, 1942 in Spring Valley, NY, the daughter of the late Raymond E. and Christine R. (Simpson) Downs. She graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1960. On Jan. 5, 1968 in Newburgh, NY she married Joseph W. Fredell. Having lived most of her life in Middletown NY; she was a former quality control inspector employed by Ciba-Geigy Pharmaceutical, in Suffern, NY, until her retirement in 1998. She and her husband moved to Virginia Beach for a while before moving to Dundee in 2011. Marla loved her time in Virginia, going to auction, thrift stores, and yard sales when not enjoying her favorite shows on TV. She is survived by Husband Joseph W. Fredell at home; 2 sons, Buddy Meier of Dundee, Joseph (Tammy) Fredell of Zephyrhills, FL; 3 daughters Lesa (Douglas) Ingram of Dundee, Denise (Patrick Krom) Fredell of Middletown, NY, Jenny Vasquez of Himrod, 19 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by 2 sons Bobby Smith and Kenneth P. Smith; 4 brothers, and 2 sister. Arrangement entrusted to the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee.
