I grew up as a Gorham Elementary kid... I remember both Mr. & Mrs Ennis as being the foundation of the school system there. Eating lunch at her desk on occasion or having her cut your orange for easy pealing ❤️. I talked to Mr. Ennis a number of times in recent years at work as he search for his beloved Dot and was confused. He sure missed her! They were the ultimate power couple. May they rest in peace together for an eternity now. Hugs to the family!

Don Ennis was simply the best! He was a mentor for me in teaching physical education and coaching football. Beyond that and way more important he was a dear friend. A great football coach and teacher with the kindest of hearts. Don genuinely cared about the students he worked with well beyond the classroom and football field.
I always enjoyed watching games with Don in his "man cave" and trying to learn as much as I could from his tremendous knowledge.
Knowing that he is now with his beloved Dottie and Jay is comforting and likely having great dialogue with Vince Lombardi and his favorite Green Bay Packers.
Rest in peace my friend...love you.

Coach Ennis was extremely influential in my life. He was beyond a coach. He was a mentor, teacher of life, confidant, friend, and Father figure. I do not stand alone in these thoughts. Far beyond the written thoughts that may be shown here, are hundreds and hundreds of folks that cherish his influence on their lives. It is said that a coach impacts more people in a year than most people impact in their entire lives. Don Ennis was the epitome of that. I’m sure he’s fitting shoulder pads on some angels in Heaven’s end zone right now.

My Uncle Don was my hero my entire life. My heart is broken with his passing but I have found comfort in the fact that he has been reunited with his beloved wife Dottie, his son Jay, his brother John(my Dad) and my Mom, Mildred. Hope I can join that reunion one day. Nancy Ennis

He was probably the best football coach I had the honor of playing for. He knew how to motivate and took the time to help people who needed it. Heaven has gained an outstanding individual and he will always be remembered for his contributions to Marcus Whitman High School.

Stephen and I have never met Don, but we know Nancy. We know her as a warm loving generous person who is always helpful with a fun loving personality. Nancy loved going to New York visiting the city and going north to visit Don. Since she and Don are related we expect Don was the same way and we are sorry we did not have the opportunity to meet him. He will be missed.
