Obituary of Cameron Blake Sutherland Jr.

Cameron B. ''Cam'' Sutherland Jr. 02/04/1965 – 01/03/2025 Cameron B. "Cam" Sutherland Jr. of Penn Yan, passed away on January 3 at the age of 59. Cam was born February 4, 1965, in Urbana, NY, to parents Cameron Sutherland Sr. and the former Doris Lamborn. On June 26, 2021, he married the former Helen E. Woodruff. A skilled carpenter all his life, he worked side by side with his father and brothers at Cam Sutherland & Sons Construction before going off on his own. Due to his health, he unfortunately had to retire early. Cam was a devoted family man who loved his children, and probably loved his grandchildren even more. He will be remembered for his cooking, and barbequing talents; he took pride in his smoker, and thoroughly hated not being home with his family to cook them their annual Christmas breakfast this year. He was a New Orleans Saints fan when it was football season, and a NASCAR fan all the rest of the year. In his younger years he helped in the shop and pits, working on the cars of his family's race teams. Cam is survived by his wife of only 3 ½ short years, Helen Sutherland, his daughters, Jessica Root (Samuel); Amber Sutherland (Matthew Rider); Cierra Sutherland (Patrick Meland); Helen's children whom he loved as his own, Michael Hullings Jr., Amanda Ward, and JoeLynn Robertson (Andrew); 10 grandchildren; his mother Doris Jorgensen (Kyle); the mother of his children Kelly McKay; his siblings Shane Sutherland, Serenity Sutherland, Trevor Sutherland, and Ethan Sutherland; his brother from another mother John Fenton; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; along with countless friends. Cam is preceded in death by his father Cameron Sutherland Sr., his sister Melissa Sutherland and two daughters Jamie Drake and Rebecca Woodruff. There will be no prior calling hours. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of His Life.
