At the end of our lives
Many of us go into the earth
The same soil that grows trees
Feeds the birds, houses them and many more creatures.
I think of you, Grandpa, and I think of the days we planted trees together in your front yard.
I think of the days we walked through the woods.
Through the seasons, we watch the earth freeze and then come alive again as it thaws.
I love thinking and believing that is in which the ways of death works for all of us.
I think of you, Grandpa. I think of the times you came to my rescue. Even when I believed I did not need rescuing. I think of the times you were my shoulder to lean on. I think of that day we went for a car ride and pulled over on a dirt road and cried together.
In the winter, white purity falls from the sky and coats everything with a blissful and beautiful chill. Icicles form on the gutters of homes, and on the branches of trees, all the flowers have gone and have been replaced with a glittering coat of white.
I think of you Grandpa. I think of the of the war you fought, at home and in Vietnam. I believe your life was difficult. I think of your 11 brothers and sisters. Your mom. Your dad. My great grandparents I was so blessed to have in my life for most of my life. I think of your hardships.
In the spring, the cold begins to melt. Mud makes its messes in every house. Grass begins peering through what is left of the cold chill on the ground. Trees begin reqrowing their leaves and flowers begin to make their appearances known in the month of May. Your birthday month and mine.
I think of you Grandpa, and all of your successes. I think of the home you had, to which you opened your doors to me gracefully, as well as other family. I think of you, as the truly only stable father figure I have ever had.
I hope and I pray that on the other side of death, you are a flourishing, strong and bold and blessed tree. Surrounded by flowers, for what you reel is what you sow. And your life is remembered dearly by me.
Your loving Granddaughter.
Lindsay Mae

I'm glad I met up with Larry, Cindy, Joe and Miriam at an airshow in Jacksonville a few years back. Got to spend some quality time together. It was a good day. The Family reunion at their house in Penn Yan was one of the best.
When I think of Larry I always think of the post card of Goofy, he sent me from Disneyland. One of my favorite things from when I was little.
I remember Mom and Dad sending Larry care packages when he was in Vietnam. I remember praying and worrying about him. We were blessed, and happy when he came home.
So sorry for your loss Cindy. It's so hard when you've been together so long. I hope your memories of good times will comfort you in the days ahead.
To the rest of my siblings, I remember Mom telling people we were cheaper by the dozen. My whole life I could never imagine not being, one of 12. This is who we were meant to be. Sad our circle is broken . . . . until we meet again.
Johanna and Tom and families, love, prayers and hugs.

What I remember of Larry was his tremendous courage, steadfastness and loyalty to family.
He did endure and triumph to the end.
I look forward to seeing my trusted friend and rejoicing in what the Lord has done.

Even though you are gone you will always hold a special place in my heart.
I will miss your stories about how you cooked venison, your love to ride your
Motorcycle, history, Teddy Roosevelt, your grand kids and great grandchildren just to name a few. And I can't forget how you built your get away to encompass French doors so you could get a better shot at the four legged animals. We had a good laugh though.
We had our own memories and those I will keep close to my heart always.
I am glad you found Cindy to share your life with and for her being by your side.
I will miss you tremendously. Love you always. No goodbyes but till we meet again....

Larry ,
I only knew Larry for a short 8 years but, the years that I did I found a truly great person. Larry was a lifetime Marine and finding out I also am a Marine he took me into his circle of Marine friends. Whenever he came visiting Cindy at work he always made it a point to say hello Devildog. You will be truly missed by all especially your soul mate and love of your life Cindy. Rest easy my brother Marine and keep heavenly streets safe with our fellow brother Marines. SEMPER FI

Larry stopped by our house to sell insurance, that began the beginning of our friendship. He saw that my husband did custom woodworking and talked with him about what he wanted for an office desk. Larry received the desk He wanted.
Larry and Cindy became our oldest sons godparents and that was the beginning of the Jelly Bean Man, we would go visit Larry and he had jelly beans on his desk and offered them to our children. Larry will be Dearly missed. RIP Friend

My grandmother used to say "work hard and play harder". Larry's life was a prime example of that. I remember him saying I am going to sell insurance, and watching him study. Larry set goals and achieved them. He was highly ambitious, and had a strong work ethic. The saying a rolling stone collects no moss is one Larry proved wrong, his stone collected a lot of moss. He had a smile that would light up the room. He was kind and loving and supportive of his wife, family and friends. Larry opened the doors of his home to several family members in their time of need. Larry only wanted the best for his family and friends, and for them to follow in his foot steps, set goals and achieve them. Move the stone "work hard and play hard". Have a kind heart.
God bless you,
Larry

Larry was that person that made the world a better place. Everyone of my memories of Larry reflects back onto his humbleness and kindness. He was a genuine soul and was someone I truly admired. He always treated my brother and I like family and that’ll never be forgotten. Heaven gained a good one. My best to you, Cindy during this time.

I have only know Larry for little over five years. He was a long time friend of my husband. I have missed seeing him drive across the field and down driveway to visit Rick.
